Walking into my home office yesterday, I stood there—frozen. I had much to do, yet I didn’t have the heart to do a thing. The desire, the motivation, the energy…none of it was there. Ugh!
Suddenly my two favorite words popped into my mind that got my engines running again. They were words I heard years ago when a story was told about a past student (now successful in life) who saw her professor at an event, went up to him and thanked him for the difference he made in her life. Curious, the professor asked, “what did I say?”, to which the student replied, “When I walked across the stage to get my diploma, you shook my hand and said, ‘keep-moving, keep moving!’.”
I get a chuckle from that story! Those two words are simple, yet powerful. When I get stuck, I remind myself to keep moving. You’ve heard the sayings ‘energy begets energy’ and a ‘body in motion, stays in motion’. So, I did just that. I began tackling a small hum-drum project and within minutes, I was engaged with life again. Yay!
Sometimes we feel stuck and not sure what to do. It’s paralyzing. Whether you are trying to de-clutter your home, start a new business or lose some weight, you just have to start somewhere and don’t stop.
Life has changed for a lot of people, and many are in the process of re-inventing themselves. We also want to be healthy, fit and strong for the journey ahead.
How about you? Are you feeling stagnant and paralyzed in some area of your life? Are you trying to lose weight and not sure how to go about it? What do you want to accomplish, but haven’t started? Take those baby steps, one at a time and start somewhere. Remind yourself of the goal ahead–keeping your eye on the prize (Philippians 3:14). I’ve heard it said that God can’t steer a parked car…so keep moving!
If you want some help to make a plan I am here for you. Xo, Pam
